The Currency of Naruto Revelations
As you might have already seen through some of our other systems, this site's primary form of currency is
Ryo. It is the change in your pocket or the fat stacks building up in your bank. It's everything you'll need to purchase things in the world, aside from a few special exceptions that we'll talk about elsewhere. As a general guide, gaining ryo is straightforward. We try to be realistic to Naruto's own costs, and so things can be expensive - but your wallet will catch up soon enough.
General ways of gaining ryo are through:
- Mission rewards
- Topics and posts
- Events or other plot related devices
- Leader granted allowances
Other ways may be listed as we develop over time.
Firstly, you should know about ryo gained from missions. They are the most abundant and well-paying task in the current world, and it is how nearly all shinobi increase their wealth. There is a general basis for how much a mission rewards you based on its difficulty, but the creator of a mission has the option to increase the reward as they please. (This does not mean making unrealistic rewards for simple tasks is allowed.)
Missions and their rewards by rank:
D-Rank missions reward 450 Ryo.
C-Rank missions reward 900 Ryo.
B-Rank missions reward 1,350 Ryo.
A-Rank missions reward 1,700 Ryo.
S-Rank missions reward 2,050 Ryo.
In addition to these rewards, missions performed for the sake of an organization or a village have a
positive tax. By this, I mean that your village is rewarded a small percentage of your income in order to do things such as make improvements, reconstruct areas, increase their military potential, or do something as simple as make the quality of life a little higher.
These purchases are made by the Kage or the Leader of each village or large organization. The village bank is separate from the Kage's personal money and functions primarily for the village itself.
The current tax rate for missions is as follows:
D-Rank: 10% Bonus (45 Ryo)
C-Rank: 20% Bonus (180 Ryo)
B-Rank: 30% Bonus (405 Ryo)
A-Rank: 40% Bonus (680 Ryo)
S-Rank: 50% Bonus (1,025 Ryo)
If the Ryo reward for a mission is any higher, this value should be recalculated and included based on the percentage and mission rank. It should also be noted that villages and leaders make a commission off of the missions their shinobi complete, and receive an additional 100% of the mission's reward, allowing for their banks to grow steadily.
After missions, the second easiest way to garner income is through posting on the forum. Simply being an active roleplayer gets you free money, which is always nice. The rules are as follows for ryo by post:
Solo topics reward 5 ryo for every 100 words.
Group topics (roleplaying with anyone) rewards 15 ryo for every 100 words.
Squad topics (roleplaying with your personal squad) rewards 25 ryo for every 100 words.
Easy, right? Finally, there's Kage-granted allowances. This is when the Kage decides to give a certain member of their village an allowance, as you might have guessed. The amount depends on how much the Kage is willing to give and is generally negotiated as a roleplay tool. If you'd like to expand upon this concept with a more official idea, post a suggestion in the Kage's Office.
On a concluding note, you might be wondering how much ryo your shinobi can start with at conception. By rank, these are the current values for starting out: (Remember that you use this ryo to purchase your weapons, abilities, and whatnot.)
Genin (or D/C-Rank Shinobi): 2,000 Ryo
Chunin (or B-Rank Shinobi): 5,000 Ryo
Jounin/ANBU (or A-Rank Shinobi): 10,000 Ryo
ANBU Captain (or S-Rank Shinobi): 15,000 Ryo
Kage (or S-Rank Shinobi): 20,000 Ryo
*These values may change.
